Caesars sells St. Louis casino to Penn National Gaming

LAS VEGAS -- Caesars Entertainment Inc. said in a regulatory filing Friday it closed a $610 million sale of its Harrah's St. Louis Casino & Hotel to Penn National Gaming, Inc.

The casino is expected to be rebranded by Penn National as the Hollywood Casino St. Louis. Caesars has said it would use the proceeds from the sale to pay down debt and to renovate some of the company's Strip resorts.
