Casino City Appoints New Managing Editor

26 September 2006

NEWTON, Massachusetts -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino City, the world's largest provider of casino and gaming information, today announced the appointment of Vin Narayanan to the position of Managing Editor of the organization's news and editorial team. He is responsible for launching and coordinating a major initiative to enhance the editorial content of Casino City's many websites.

In making the announcement, Casino City CEO Michael Corfman stated that Narayanan would play a key role within the organization. "I'm very happy about this appointment. Vin Narayanan will be involved in finding innovative ways to turn our extensive information- and data-gathering resources into exciting, well-received content. And he will be working with our very talented reporters to ensure that their efforts receive the widest coverage and recognition possible."

Narayanan brings a wealth of experience to his new post, including editor/producer work in print, TV, radio, and online venues. After graduating from Michigan State University he began his professional career in East Lansing, MI as an anchor/reporter for Capital News Service. This was followed by stints in Washington, DC in the political unit at CNN, where duties included producing and editing segments of the acclaimed "Inside Politics" show, and as a producer at USA Weekend, where he helped create and build the magazine's online presence.

Moving on to USAToday.com, Narayanan became involved in editing and developing news stories for the website, including well-received hockey, horseracing, soccer, and boxing sports analysis columns that often led to his being invited to comment on TV and radio. He also directed groundbreaking web coverage featuring pundits and politicians at the 2000 Democratic National Convention and developed unique online content for the site, including interactive maps of Baghdad and county-by-county election results during the 2004 presidential election. Just prior to joining Casino City, Narayanan served as Managing Editor of Computerworld.com's channels, where he oversaw editorial direction and strategy, including the security, networking, and storage sections of the site.

When asked about what he hoped to accomplish in his new position, Narayanan stated that his goal will be to "make Casino City the foremost authority on gaming news and preserve the organization's independent voice. Visitors to the site will see a lot more news about poker and the industry as a whole, as well as a change in how the information is organized and presented."

A New Jersey native, Vin Narayanan lived for many years in Washington, DC and now resides in Taunton, MA, where he and his wife are expecting their first child in November.

Casino City is a publisher of directories and almanacs for the gaming industry and the operator of a network of websites including www.CasinoCity.com.
