NEWTON, Massachusetts – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino City CEO Michael Corfman
is the featured entrepreneur in this week's edition of the Boston Business
Journal, a publication of American City Business Journals, Inc.
Corfman, who founded Casino City 11 years ago as a division of
Information Technology Systems, was called a "major player in the market
for gaming industry information" by the newspaper. The article goes on to
quote other industry leaders like Jeannie Caruso, publisher of Gaming &
Leisure Magazine, who notes that Casino City's efforts to diversify its
informational assets into a broad spectrum of formats has made the business
something of an industry forerunner. "No one had really pulled it all
together as well as (Corfman) had," she said.
Casino City is the world's largest provider of information for the
casino industry; it publishes directories and almanacs including Casino
City's iGaming Business Directory and operates a network of websites
including https://www.casinocity.com and https://www.casinocitypress.com.
The Boston Business Journal noted that the success of Casino City's
revenue model stems from the fact that it's not entirely dependent on
online advertising sales. The company's publishing arm generates about 15
percent of total revenue.
Casino City recently completed its latest acquisition, the Gambling
Portal Webmasters Association, which Corfman
described as an important resource for online gaming portal site owners
that will continue to thrive and grow under Casino City's leadership. In
the last decade, Casino City has made four strategic acquisitions, creating
a network of nine sites.
