Casino City Press Releases Gaming Alamanac

31 August 2005

NEWTON, Massachusetts – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino City Press announces the release of the first edition of "Casino City's North American Gaming Almanac."

Casino City's North American Gaming Almanac, which gives readers more than 500 pages of information on the North American gaming market, provides the latest 2004 gaming revenue figures for the United States and Canada. The Almanac contains market profiles for each state and province and nearly 1,000 revenue charts and tables. Property rankings are also included with lists of top properties by type of gaming activity, type of property, and number of gaming positions, machines, table games, and hotel rooms.

Each gaming market profile includes a market overview, net gaming revenue by type, gaming property counts, machine and table game counts and distribution, gaming property profiles, property owner profiles, and regulatory bodies.

"The North American Gaming Almanac is a must-have for any operator or analyst seeking to understand the state of the gaming industry today," says Michael Opton, the publication's editor. "The Almanac will help you develop benchmarks, analyze competitors, monitor industry trends, and gather market data to support your business plan."

Key findings in Casino City's North American Gaming Almanac:

* U.S. gaming revenue grew 7% in 2004 to reach an all-time high of 77.6 billion dollars, or 0.716% of total U.S. GDP.

* Casino and card room gaming accounted for 39% of total gaming revenue, lotteries for 28%, and tribal gaming, 25%.

* The largest growth, an increase of nearly 12%, was seen in tribal gaming.

* Revenue from lotteries and casino gaming also grew by more than 6%.

* Charitable gaming declined by nearly 6%, and race and sports wagering remained steady after a small decline in 2003.

* Of the 49 U.S. states (including the District of Columbia) with some form of legalized gaming, the state of Wyoming, while being the lowest ranked in terms of gaming revenue in 2004, experienced the highest growth with a 66% increase in 2004 revenues over 2003.

Together with Casino City's Indian Gaming Industry Report by Dr. Alan Meister, the Almanac provides comprehensive coverage of gaming in the North American marketplace.
