Delaware Senate OKs online gambling

27 June 2012

The Delaware Legislature has passed a bill that would allow table games, video lottery games, and traditional lottery games to be offered online. The legislation would also allow bars and convenience stores to sell NFL teaser and parlay cards.

Gov. Jack Markell is expectd to sign the bill.

If Markell signs the bill as expected, Delaware will become the first state to offer more than poker and the lottery online. Nevada is in the process of licensing online poker operators and software providers.

IGT and Bally Technolgoies received Nevada's first interactive gaming licenses last week. Illinois already sells lottery tickets online.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed legislation last year that would have allowed the Garden State to offer online gambling to its residents.
