"The gaming companies with properties that were destroyed or severely damaged are 'taking care of their own' by providing web pages on which they have described where their displaced employees can go to collect paychecks or call for more information," said Beth Deighan, president of Casino Careers Online and Casino Executive Search.

"Many are offering benefits and salaries for 90 days to 9 months and assisting their employees to find positions in their other properties," she continued.

Gaming Companies such as AC Coin & Slot, Viejas Casino, Fantasy Springs Resort, Soboba Casino, Angel of the Winds Casino, Argosy Casino – Riverside, and Pearl River Resort, have designed special packages for Katrina/Rita victims.

The programs vary by company and offer features that are above and beyond what is usually offered to new hires. They include relocation, sign-on bonus, assistance with the licensing process, and temporary housing after hire. A description of each program is also provided on the Katrina web page on Casino Careers.

Displaced employees or their relatives with electricity and Internet connectivity can access the information and communicate it to their family and friends.

Employees can apply via email directly to the Employers, or can post a resume once and email it with the click of a button in each job listing.
