Gaming Innovation Group appoints new board member

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The board of directors in Gaming Innovation Group Inc. has appointed Mr. Michael Ahearne as new board member. Mr. Ahearne is currently CEO of SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited. The appointment follows the approval by the shareholders in the Special Meeting of Shareholders on 20 January 2022, and the completion of the acquisition of Sportnco Gaming SAS today.

Mr. Ahearne joined SkyCity in December 2017 as Group Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for driving value across SkyCity’s properties in New Zealand and Australia. Mr. Ahearne also led SkyCity’s online gaming strategy, including overseeing the establishment of SkyCity Online Casino in 2019. His extensive global experience in the gaming industry spans over 20 years across multiple sectors, including land-based and online casinos, as well as retail and online sports betting. Prior to joining SkyCity, Mr. Ahearne held a number of senior leadership roles at Paddy Power Betfair, Aristocrat and The Star Casino in Sydney. Mr. Ahearne is a qualified accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Technology, Sydney.

GiG’s board of directors now consists of seven members; Petter Nylander (Chairman), Henrik Persson Ekdahl, Helge Nielsen, Nicolas Adlercreutz, Kjetil Garstad, Kathryn Moore Baker and Michael Ahearne.
