GiGse Launchpad finalists set to disrupt gaming status quo

7 April 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- "Some outstanding examples of disruptive thinking that push the boundaries of the U.S. regulatory framework,” is how Clarion Gaming's Head of Content, Ewa Bakun, described the shortlist of finalists for this year's GiGse Launchpad, which is being organized in partnership with GamCrowd. The GiGse Launchpad provides startups with a once in a life time opportunity to pitch in front of investor judges and an audience of senior executives from the U.S. land-based and interactive gaming sectors. In addition to being shortlisted, this year's five selected finalists receive booth space in the GiGse Startup Zone.

The 2017 GiGse LaunchPad finalists are:

No Halftime: Simplified version of fantasy that allows users to challenge each other on single player lineups. Presented by David McKenzie, CEO/Founder.

TradeDuel: The first fully-regulated fantasy stock trading platform where users "pay to enter" into discrete stock trading competitions for cash prizes. Presented by Ronald Silletti, Founder & CEO.

PropSwap: U.S. answer to cash-out betting – both online and physical marketplace for re-sale of betting slips. Presented by Luke Pergande, Founder.

nQube Data Science: Artificial Intelligence-based software to optimize the mix and spatial locations of slot machines on the gaming floor to maximize gaming revenue. Presented by Jason Fiege, CEO.

Uplay1: An internet gaming-broadcasting platform offering interactive games by leveraging second screen technology and Hybrid RNG. Presented by Bruce Merati, CEO.

Ewa, who has been central to the development of LaunchPad, said, "The gaming industry has a rich history of challenging conventional thinking, and this year's LaunchPad finalists certainly reflect that philosophy and approach to business. The thought leaders and senior executives which comprise our panel of judges are looking for fresh thinking and an approach that will attract, engage and retain younger generations of players across both the land-based and online gaming industries."

Discussing the opportunities that exist for the eventual winner of the GiGse Launchpad, which has provided a platform for hugely successful gaming innovators including NumberFire, BlueBat and Imperus, she added, "The GiGse LaunchPad offers a path for new entrants into the gambling space and an opportunity for established gaming brands to seize upon disruptive trends and preserve their foothold in what is a broad entertainment offering. Gaining exposure and obtaining funding are major challenges for startups and LaunchPad, is a great opportunity to get noticed by both investors and business partners."

For the first time, GiGse will host the prestigious iGaming North America Awards (iGNA). Celebrating their third anniversary, the Awards, which are in seven categories, recognize excellence and innovation displayed by gaming organizations operating in North America. The Awards will be presented at an exclusive C-Level cocktail reception, which is free to attend for GiGse delegates.

GiGse, which is being held at San Diego's Marriot Marquis Marina (26–28 April), offers a unique opportunity to prepare gaming brands for the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead. With a focus on unconventional thinking, it will explore the technology, innovations and potential regulatory hurdles facing all gaming brands operating in North America.
