Nevada gaming stocks improve in March

2 April 2010

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- The fortunes of Nevada's publicly traded gaming stocks showed improvements in March.

Just two of the 10 businesses followed in the Applied Analysis Gaming Index showed declines in average daily stock prices in the month.

In January and February, seven of the 10 index companies saw price drops.

Both companies posting lower prices in March are gaming manufacturers, rather than resort operators.

International Game Technology's average daily share price slipped 3.1 percent, from $17.99 to $17.44, while Bally Technologies' price fell 2.1 percent, from $40.08 to $39.22.

Overall, the gaming index rose 7 percent from February to March, thanks partly to improvements in the broader equities markets, according to a report from Applied Analysis.
