Penn National receives approval for Kansas casino

KANSAS -- As reported by the Wichita Business Journal: "The Kansas Lottery on Monday approved a contract for Hollywood Casino, to be built in Cherokee County.

"It is the first signed casino contract under the state's new gambling law, which allows facilities in four areas of the state. The project still must bee approved by a special casino selection committee in Topeka.

"Hollywood Casino would be operated by Penn National Gaming Inc., on US-166 Highway.

"...Initially, the casino would have a 225-seat buffet, a coffee shop, a gift shop and a bar.

"...The casino would be expected to open in May 2010, employing 510 people..."
