We welcome the 57th GST Council's emphasis on making tax administration simpler, more transparent and less discretionary. It is heartening that several suggestions consistently raised by FICCI have been favourably considered. Streamlining the process for issuance of notices, simplified registration procedures, faster refunds and rationalised penalties and prosecution provisions are important steps towards reducing procedural burdens and improving the everyday experience of taxpayers. Their effective implementation will further strengthen ease of doing business: Ms jyoti vij , Director General, FICCI

The 57th GST Council has addressed several longstanding industry concerns, particularly around compliance complexity, procedural delays, and enforcement. We compliment Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and all States for advancing these reforms in a collaborative spirit. FICCI is pleased that several of its recommendations have found favourable consideration. Easier registration, faster refunds and more proportionate enforcement will particularly benefit MSMEs and entrepreneurs, allowing businesses to devote more resources to expansion, innovation and job creation: Mr Anant Swarup, Secretary General, FICCI
